KTD Jupiter s.r.o. is located in the Košice region in Slovakia and is engaged in the production and sale of small civil aircraft and UAVs. In terms of speed, payload, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, quality, safety and price, the Jupiter J4S 916iS is currently the best 4-seater aircraft in the world.

A team of Ukrainian, German and Slovak design engineers worked on the Jupiter-J4S 916iS aircraft project, as a result of which the best 4-seater aircraft in the world with the most modern ROTAX 916iS engine was created. The aircraft is currently being tested and prepared for certification according to EASA CS-23 standards. In the future, the project includes an amphibious and twin-engine aircraft.

The company KTD Jupiter s.r.o. has launched serial production of three models of industrial UAVs for rescue services and border control. In cooperation with the military company DefTech A.S. a deep military modernization of our Jupiter UAVs is underway.

Control

Chassis

Three-column retractable landing gear with a nose wheel. Front pillar is controlled. Full amortization with pneumatic oil absorbers. Thus, the plane takes off and sits on an unprepared soil strip. The main wheels are equipped with hydraulic disc brakes. The brakes are very effective, they ensure braking at least -0.3 … 0.35g on the run. The chassis cleaning system is hydraulic. The hydraulic system is at least 2.5 times lighter than the electrical system. Cleaning is carried out with the help of hydraulic cylinders, which are fixed in the released and retracted position built-in locks, and built-in induction sensors, triggered by the position of the locking elements of the locks. Everything is inside, compact, and in oil. It can work equally well in mud, in sand, in heat, in frost or under water. Seals of hydraulic cylinders are polyurethane. Hydraulic cylinders are included in the power circuit of the chassis, and perceive loads as rigid rods for tension-compression in accordance with landing loading cases. The order of loads is 1800 … 2200 kg. Also, the hydraulic system is serviced by VISH. The hydr aulic system includes a 200 ml accumulator and a filter. Advantages

IElectric drive for chassis cleaning, in addition to significantly larger overall dimensions and weight compared to hydraulic cylinders, have one more drawback. The most likely reason for the failure of the electric drive is the failure of the electrical part. Short circuit in the circuit, burnout of the motor windings, etc. The drive is located outside the cabin and is subject to external influences, which can cause a failure. First of all, it’s getting moisture. In addition, the failure of the electric drive can not be neutralized. If the drive motor does not rotate, the drive will no longer move. And if one of the three drives fails, and in the cycle of release or cleaning, one rack «hangs» in an intermediate position. And you can not do anything. The hydraulic cylinder can be considered an absolutely reliable device. The failure of the hydraulic drive is 99.9% failure of the pressure source. And the most likely reason for this failure is the loss of working fluid due to leakage failure. But in this case, all three racks will not budge. That is, if they were released, then the plane returns to the airfield and lands as usual. If the chassis is not released, then sit on the «belly». This is less evil than landing on one, or without one rack.

VISH

Variable pitch screw with constant speed, three-bladed with plastic blades. That is, from the cockpit the pilot moving the VISH lever, only changes the setting of the regulator. And the screw, changing the angle of installation of the blades, keeps the given revolutions. Drive VISH from the hydraulic system of the aircraft. The leading edge of the blades is 1/3 of the end of the blade and has a protective polyurethane coating. A special requirement for the screw is low noise. Due to the good aerodynamics of the airplane, the noise level from the flow is insignificant.
